SUNFREE Vertical Solar Panel Integrated with GaN/Si Yellow LED: Ushering in a New Era of Green Lighting

2025-03-28

As the concept of low-carbon environmental protection has gained traction in recent years, solar-powered lighting systems have become a critical direction for urban and rural lighting upgrades. A groundbreaking solar streetlight has recently been introduced, integrating SUNFREE vertical solar panel  technology with GaN/Si yellow LED light sources. This product not only adopts an innovative vertical solar tube design for efficient solar energy harvesting but also leverages ultra-high-efficiency GaN/Si yellow LEDs to deliver high brightness, low energy consumption, and long-lasting illumination, marking a technological revolution in Public Lighting.

Design Philosophy

The solar streetlight seamlessly integrates advanced solar technology with Led Lighting. Vertically arranged solar tubes efficiently collect sunlight, which is converted and stored by an energy storage system to power high-performance GaN/Si yellow LEDs. With an impressive luminous efficacy of 200 lm/W, these LEDs demonstrate exceptional energy utilization. Whether in sunny or continuously overcast and rainy conditions, the system maintains prolonged stable illumination, ensuring nighttime safety for roads and public areas.
●High Energy Conversion and Low Operational Energy Consumption
The vertical solar panels  enable efficient solar capture even in high-rise buildings or space-constrained environments, offering greater flexibility and adaptability compared to traditional flat Solar Panels. Simultaneously, the advanced GaN/Si yellow LEDs achieve an ultra-high luminous efficacy of 200 lm/W, maximizing the utilization of harvested solar energy. This ensures stable illumination even under low-light conditions.
The high energy conversion efficiency significantly reduces overall energy consumption, conserving resources while lowering long-term operational and maintenance costs, aligning with global green energy trends.

Scientific Lighting Coverage Design
A standout feature of this product is its scientifically optimized illumination design. By positioning the streetlight at an optimal height and adopting a triangular irradiation zone layout—placing the light source at the vertex—the design ensures uniform and ample coverage for both sides of the road.
When installed on a 4,000 mm pole, the product achieves a horizontal irradiation range of 14 meters. At an extended distance of 8,000 mm, the lighting angle expands to 120°, meeting diverse scenarios such as urban thoroughfares, rural roads, and public squares.

Advantages of Yellow LEDs and Eco-Friendliness
Beyond meeting high-brightness requirements, yellow LEDs prioritize visual comfort. Compared to traditional white LEDs, yellow light emits a softer hue, reducing eye strain and glare—ideal for rainy, foggy, or dusty environments, and enhancing nighttime visibility.
Moreover, yellow light minimizes ecological disruption. Its subdued intensity mitigates adverse effects on flora and fauna, preserving insect activity and the biological rhythms of nocturnal species. This fosters a more harmonious lighting environment for both urban and rural areas.

Durability and Low Maintenance
The use of GaN/Si materials ensures high-efficiency light emission while reducing heat generation, preventing lumen degradation caused by high temperatures. Low thermal output guarantees stable performance during prolonged operation, extending lifespan. The streamlined structural design simplifies installation and maintenance, cutting replacement frequency and upkeep costs. This balance of advanced technology and economic viability supports large-scale future deployment.

Green, Low-Carbon Energy Solution
By day, the streetlight efficiently harvests solar energy through vertical solar tubes, converting and storing it as electricity. By night, high-efficiency LEDs utilize this stored energy, enabling fully clean energy-powered illumination.
This design reduces reliance on grid electricity, curbs carbon emissions, and supports cities in achieving low-carbon goals, aligning with global sustainable development strategies.
